When I was 16, I realized I wasn’t getting any younger, and if I truly wanted to sell board games before my graduation, I had to do it now, since there was no guarantee I'd have a better chance later. When I considered publishing a board game, I was shocked by the high costs of outsourcing production, so I bought a laser cutter to create the game pieces myself. This sparked my interest in making things with it. My first major projects were wooden ornaments, followed by more complex items such as 2D and 3D puzzles and engraving on metal pens and glass jars, but the real fun was in my custom orders, where I got to make things just the way you want them—a totally new challenge.
I want to grow my business before I graduate High School. I do not want this to be my hobby, I want it to be my full time job. I need your help to make this happen. I am 17 now and in 11th grade, and one of my goals is to make my products as affordable as possible.
When I started my business, I was looking for the perfect name, but instead, my business name became a simple truth. My parents had given me a little 8-by-8-foot section in their pole barn in which to put my laser engraver and all my other business supplies. So at this point, I am doing business from a cube.
